A Special Note to Friends of mindbodyspiritconnection.us:
We have so much to be grateful for and my guess is that you have made a contribution to
help those who are suffering in Haiti in this day, in this hour?
This small country is closer to Miami, FL than most of us living in the United States. No doubt more Haitians have relatives that live there than many of us do and I have several living in Miami. This story is alot closer than many of us think. Haiti use to seem so very far away. Experiencing an earthquake seemed even farther, until I was in one. The Big One that hit Oakland and SF in 89. It is a devastating experience to say the least....but it was not this bad. We had water, food, money, family, friends and strangers willing to help and within reach. We had trucks, cranes, ladders and trained personnel to operate them. We had hospitals, ambulances, doctors, nurses, medical equipment and medicine operating in full effect. We had government, corporate infrastructure commandeering law, order and issuing checks. We had someplace safe and comfortable to go until things got better. Transportation and communication were available. Some restaurants and stores were open and handing out
essentials to help keep the peace and respect the calming balm after the "storm." Funeral services were held to honor those 63 who did die trapped in the rubble. It cost me my home and my job but still there was much to be grateful for. The same response could have and should have been for Katrina victims.
The people of Haiti need us Now and we must continue to respond any and every way that we
can, just as we would expect from others if we were in trouble. Please continue to do
what you can with Godspeed...
